Autumn Events from the Workplace Wellbeing and Training Team launched

 

We are pleased to announce our timetable of Autumn Events from the Workplace Wellbeing and Training Team has been agreed and they are now available to book.

Havant and East Hants Mind will also be proudly working with the Lakeside North Harbour management team at the complex in Cosham over the next few months with both an information stand and a series of short lunchtime courses promoting better workplace and personal wellbeing.

The programme primarily consists of free sessions with some low cost paid training events also available to book.

You are welcome you to come to talk to us at our stand at Lakeside North Harbour in the Atrium (building 1000) and we can tell you more about our offer and how we might be able to support you, someone you care for or your business and staff.

Suicide Awareness Overview on 9th September 2022

Suicide Awareness Day is on the 10th September. Learn about suicide and how you can help someone who is in crisis. The Suicide Awareness online course is on 9th September 2022 at 12:30 and places can be booked through Eventbrite.

The hour long overview course covers the following topics :

  • The impact of suicide (including statistics)​
  • Why don’t we talk about suicide?​
  • What causes Suicide​
  • What are the warning signs​
  • How to have supportive conversations ​
  • What options for help are there? (signposting)

Sleep and Wellbeing on 30th September 2022

Learn about how our mental and physical wellbeing benefits from sleep. The Sleep and Wellbeing online course is on 30th September 2022 at 11:30 and places can be booked through Eventbrite.

This hour long overview course covers the following topics :

  • Sleep Quiz​
  • What happens when we sleep (or don’t)​ to our:
  1. Physical health​
  2. Mental health​
  • What can we do to help our sleep

Mental Health Awareness on 7th October 2022

10th October is World Mental Health Day. Take this hour long course to get an understanding about Mental Health and Wellbeing. The Mental Health Awareness online course is on 7th October 2022 at 14:00 and places can be booked for £30 each through Eventbrite.

This hour long overview course covers the following topics :

  • What is mental health ​
  • Why care?​
  • Why don’t we talk about Mental Health?​
  • Common mental health problems – how to spot someone may be suffering with poor mental health ​
  • Supporting someone ​

The East Hants Mind Information Stand will be in the Atrium of Lakeside North Harbour between 10:00 and 16:00 on 10th October 2022. This is a drop in event. Our Workplace Wellbeing and Training Consultants will be on hand to provide information and advice.

Does what is says on the tin – get to hear about East Hants Mind’s free services, other local mental health support, Mind training and workplace wellbeing offer – how we can support you, your family and friends or your organisation and staff.

This half hour update is on 10th October 2022 at 13:00 in the Rowan Room, Lakeside North Harbour and places can be booked through Eventbrite.

This Managing Anxiety course is on 24th October 2022 at 11am-12pm in the Rowan Room, Lakeside North Harbour and places can be booked through Eventbrite

  • An introduction into Anxiety, looking at its causes and effects, and discussing techniques to manage the symptoms of anxiety.
  • What is Anxiety?
  • How we may think, feel and behave when we are feeling anxious

Learn about Assertiveness as a coping strategy that helps protect our mental health. Helping to manage stress at work or home. The Assertiveness for Wellbeing online course is on 9th December 2022 at 14:00 and places can be booked for £30 each through Eventbrite.

Assertiveness is a skill that some have innately and others have to learn. Join our hour long course to find out more.

Loneliness and Isolation and our Mental Health on 16th December 2022
