Fund Raising Events

We are aware that fund raisers are taking part in a variety of events and activities throughout the year. If you are thinking of taking part in a challenge or event and raising funds for Havant and East Hants Mind we would love to hear from you. We have resources and material that maybe useful and you can talk to our Community Development Team about your plans and how we can support you.

We have regular fund raisers taking part in:

Hayling Billy 5

The Hayling Billy 5 takes place in June each year. It’s a fun race – open to all abilities with beautiful seaside views and usually lovely weather. The race is organised by Victory Running Club. You can find all the information about the Hayling Billy 5 run and how to enter via the Victory AC website

Great South Run

The 10 mile running event returns to Southsea, Portsmouth every October. This is a fast flat course that will take you around some of the historic parts of our waterfront city. You can find all the information about the GSR itself and how to enter via their website.

London Marathon

The London Marathon is a long-distance (26 miles) running event held very April and is part of the World Marathon Majors. Live coverage of the event is shown on TV and online.

Vanessa Edworthy, Welfare Manager at Alton College took on the 26 mile race around London on Sunday 22 April. Vanessa raised over £900, which will be split between two charities, HEH Mind and PAPYRUS

About Havant and East Hants Mind

We are a small charity seeing about 1,000 local people each year. We are therefore not able to purchase any places “en bloc” at the above events, so we are hoping that fund raisers will pay their own entry fee.

There is no pressure to fund raise for us. We feel it’s incredibly important to raise the profile of the work we do, any funds you raise are of course a bonus. As you have already paid to enter the run and will be running for us, that’s already a great gesture but we hope some people will be inspired by your commitment and many give some pennies too!

We will provide you with a Havant and East Hampshire Mind T-shirt which will help raise awareness of our charity on your run and afterwards as well, we hope.

How to raise funds for Havant and East Hants Mind
  1. Tell us you intend to fund raise for us by sending an email to info@easthantsmind.org or message us on Facebook. We will send you an email with further information to help.
  2. The best way is to set up an online giving page because this cuts down on the paperwork and the money goes directly into our account from the sponsor so you don’t have to collect it after the event. It also makes it easier for us to claim the extra 25% extra Gift Aid from the Government.
  3. We use two main websites which you can sign up to, Just Giving and Virgin Money. You can promote your run and our cause on social media, Facebook, Twitter and email to everyone you know. Once you sign up you need to remember to nominate Havant and East Hants Mind as your charity (If you nominate just “Mind” we will not get the money).

If you need paper fundraising forms to collect cash then please email mikel@easthantsmind.org and we will send you some electronic copies to print off.
Any other support you require please contact us on 07741657105 or mikel@easthantsmind.org.

Good luck and get training.
